The Helsinki Kit contains:

(2) Cahier Size traveler notebook inserts (comparable to Moleskine size L) which contain smooth recycled paper* and with covers made from sustainable handmade Lokta paper from Nepal. Cover styles/designs are as pictured.

The Cahier size is 5" x 8" and will fit A5 size traveler's notebook albums. Notebooks are crafted by women artisans in a fair trade network so that they can improve the economic conditions for themselves and their families.

Also included are sustainable paper die cuts which are stitched together as a banner (which can be used as a decoration) and can be cut apart into individual die cuts to use as embellishments.

*Note that due to recycling the paper is not white but a very light kraft or manila color.

These kits may be different from what we are used to as scrapbookers and papercrafters, but the bottom line is our Earth is in trouble and doing nothing is not an option if we care about the next generation. The modern documenter will appreciate buying eco-friendly and fair trade supplies to craft with and making this carefree style of documenting part of their lifestyle. Scaled down with the ability to attach photos and embellishments as well as journal all of your thoughts and memories, this kit (and the others like it) will inspire you to create outside the box. In order for scrapbooking to be viable in the future it is essential that we make it eco-conscious and sensitive to issues like exploitative labor practices and even slavery/trafficking that results from wide economic disparity throughout the world.
