Altenew presented their first fabric release at Creativation this year and as a lover of fabric (despite being not especially good at sewing) I was intrigued! Some of you may know that fabric scraps and swatches have been included in some of our kits before and there are infinite ways to use fabric in our crafting and our artwork! This collection is so pretty and the colors are perfect for Spring. Here is just a short list of how you can explore using fabric in your papercrafting. And if you sew or quilt, well you know what to do already.
- Attach fabric to paper using a variety of techniques. You can iron it onto cardstock with fusible backing and then create album or mini book covers with it. Another way to flatten and preserve fabric on paper is to attach it with a gel medium or mod podge and allow it to dry completely. You can even die cut it using your thin dies and manual die cutting machine.
- You can rip it into strips and use them like you would any ribbon
- You can use it to create beautiful embellishments such as bows or fabric flowers (just check you tube and you will find a million ideas)
- You can embellish office supplies such as paper clips or the spine of your traveler notebook
- Fussy cuts elements you like from the fabric and use them like you would a die cut to embellish the background of a layout or card.
- Re-usable fabric gift wrap is a great way to present a special gift, especially for a crafty friend
I am sure I al leaving out a lot of great ideas, and I can't wait to see what you create.
Fabric bundle includes 5 patterns, a fat quarter of each.
