The Biergarten originated in 19th century Germany of course, home of Oktoberfest and the famous Bavarian pretzel. The brewers of those awesome German beers in Munich would plant trees and other shade plants on the ground above their cellars to keep the fermenting lagers cool enough in the hot summer months. These shady spots where there was beer flowing made a natural place to bring out some tables and chairs and allow people to congregate, drink, and enjoy the company. Local food vendors could sell snacks of course to keep everybody from getting too drunk and voilá the first Beer Gardens were born. If you are married to a craft beer brewer, or even if you are not, this little bundle could be perfect for documenting your ale, lager, and pilsner tastings or Father's Day cards, or maybe your Animal House Days at a keg party, beer hall, or even just a run of the mill pub. If you come to visit me on Maui I will take you to the Maui Brewery for my favorite craft beer the Bikini Blonde lager.
